Are you looking for a counselor that can relate to you?

You want a counselor that understands it can be difficult to feel confident about your decisions.

You want a counselor that knows your anxiety today, can come from past trauma.

You want a counselor that understands the impact of drug and alcohol use over generations and how substances can be used to “self-medicate” underlying mental health disorders.

I have worked with clients for over 15 years in many different settings. I began my professional journey helping victims of sexual assault and domestic violence while in college. I pursued my degree interest in criminal justice and noticed the need for more mental health understanding while working in the community. Additionally, I have helped clients while in substance use inpatient treatment and helped those clients adjust to aftercare requirements.

I understand first hand that you have the power within yourself to make changes. But, sometimes we just get stuck in a cycle of stressful situations and use unhealthy ways to cope. I enjoy helping clients realize their inner strength.

I am trained in clinical hypnosis, PTSD, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, and other evidence-based practices.

How we will work together

You will learn about cognitive and solution-focused based therapy. Which means, we will identify your thoughts, and how these thoughts can be used to change your behaviors. We will discuss some past experiences and beliefs. Then, we will focus on future goals to help you gain a positive outlook.

Why I Enjoy Being a Counselor

For me, the most enjoyable part about being a counselor is when you find your “aha moment” and begin to start making a connection with your beliefs in your life. One thing you might hear me say in session is, “I am just the cheerleader on the sidelines. You are the one making these great changes.” This is the truth. You have the ability to change your perspective and how you will handle future events in your life. I am here to offer a bit of guidance and motivation along the way.
