About Amber
You already have what it takes. Sometimes we just get stuck.
My favorite part of this work is helping people find their way back to their own strength — and cheering them on a little while they do.
I've been working with clients for over 18 years in different settings. In the beginning, I worked supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Then, entering the criminal justice system, I discovered the community was in need of more understanding and aid in their mental health.
Since then I've walked with clients through inpatient treatment for substance use and stayed alongside them as they found their footing in aftercare. Here's what I've learned: you really do have what you need inside you. We just get caught in hard cycles sometimes and reach for whatever helps us get through the day.

Why I love being a counselor
The best part is your "aha" moment.
Honestly, nothing beats watching that moment land — when something clicks and you start connecting the dots about your own life. One thing you'll probably hear me say in session is:
"I'm just the cheerleader on the sidelines. You're the one making these great changes."
And I mean it. You're the one who gets to shift your perspective and decide how you handle what comes next. I'm just here with a little guidance and a lot of encouragement along the way.
When we work together
What our time together looks like.
During talk therapy, I use cognitive and solution-focused therapy; which means we'll look at your thoughts and how they end up shaping what you do. We'll talk through some of your past experiences and the beliefs that came from them, then turn toward where you're headed, so you leave with a more hopeful outlook to carry forward.
